中嶋和介方へ明口銭小路屋敷への誘引の義、かつ何かと相談したい件があり、挨拶を兼ねて差し遣わした。もっとも中嶋利兵衛は当時利介方に同居しているとのことである。
千代蔵着用の袴・羽織・一刀は伊良子主税助方にて着用させた。私は伊良子に残り、瀬尾の手代小兵衛、丁稚の藤三郎・市蔵・うの等を召し連れて参り、利兵衛・利介へ扇子一箱ずつを送った。中嶋からは手遊びの類や菓子等が送られてきた。同じく手代の喜六からも手遊びが送られてきた。
十五日壬辰曇り 堀川近江守方の粮子左衛門大志が今日辰の半刻（午前8時頃）に堀川家へ引越しするにつき、御用人の佐々木・村田、親類の下橋、私が立会い、浦野保生院並びに弟の山本政之助等へ引き渡しが済んだ。なお夕刻に祝酒として一汁三菜の飯が出された。寿光院・堀川弾正忠・下橋和泉・私等が同席し、左衛門大志が相伴した。料理向きは総じて大変粗末で、未曾有のことであった。酉の刻過ぎ（午後7時過ぎ）に済んだ。もっとも暑用の麻上下にて参った。
千代蔵が瀬尾次兵衛方へ養子相続する件について、一昨十三日に用人佐々木太宇に相談して言上させたところ、速やかに御聞き届けとなった。これにより今日屋敷へ出る前刻、千代蔵は御殿へお暇乞いを兼ねて初めて参上した。着用は麻上下・振袖で、大御所が御居間にて御対面遊ばされ、御手熨斗を拝領した。御肴一折・鯣一尾・海老五・貝を献上し、御硯蓋二・帯地一・人形二・盃二つ・鶴亀の抱根等を下賜され頂戴した。その後若御所・君様方へ暇乞いを申し上げ退出した。次に錦小路東洞院東へ入る薩州屋敷へ召し連れた。その時午の刻頃（正午頃）、右屋敷向かいの大津屋という所にて休息した。もっともこれは兼ねて瀬尾より申し付けがあったのである。前刻、中嶋利兵衛同利介等が同屋敷に詰めているとのことで、程なく瀬尾の手代小兵衛が大津屋へ入ってきた。今日屋敷留守居初めへ千本蔵からの送り物として樽肴同様の料を

Chiyozō's formal wear - hakama, haori, and sword - was put on at Irako Chikara-nosuke's place. I remained at Irako's while Seo's clerk Kohei and apprentices Tōzaburō, Ichizō, Uno and others were brought along. We sent one box of fans each to Rihei and Risuke.
