寄りなさると、もとより立っている男がいた。誰だろうか、心をかけている好色者がいたのだとお思いになって、物陰に入って身を隠しなさると、頭の中将であった。この夕方、内裏から一緒に退出なさったのだが、そのまま大殿にも寄らず、二条院にも行かずに、別れなさったのを、どこへ行くのだろうと、様子がいわくありげで、自分も行く所があるけれども、後をつけて様子をうかがったのであった。粗末な馬に狩衣姿の無造作ななりで来たので聞けば
