The Taguchi Railway line is rich in scenic and recreational spots including Yamadera Falls, Tamine Valley, the longest tunnel in Tokai region, Tamine Kannon, Shiozu Hot Springs, and Soezawa Hot Springs.
Taking the path over Gyoja-goe from Mikawa-Ono Station is the shortest route to Horaiji Temple, and crossing Ono Bridge brings you to Ono Town in Yana County. At the edge of town in Tenjinyama Park there is Fudo Falls. From here it is over two ri to Adera in Yamayoshida Village, with automobile service available. There are the cascading Nanaori Falls, 125 feet high, called the Seven Falls of Adera, a summer retreat where one feels coolness even in summer. Yuya Station is in the middle of the so-called Horai Gorge, and across the Miwa River (Itajiki River) the prefectural Bessho Highway extends smoothly northward, with scenery reminiscent of Yabakei Gorge. Along this stream there are hot springs emerging from a small basin. These are called Horai Springs, said to be effective for all ailments, and the station operates a hotel here to allow travelers to enjoy themselves to their heart's content. Mikawa-Maihara Station is rich in fine scenery with many famous spots of Horai Gorge. Since this area has much flat land despite being deep in the mountains, it is promising as a villa site for city dwellers. Mikawa-Kawai Station is a crucial junction point leading through Hongo, Goten, and Furikusato to Niino and Iida in Shinano Province, and passing through central Urakawa to Kune Copper Mine and Misakubo. About thirty cho from this station, the famous rock cave of Chiiwa looms before one's eyes as if to swallow one whole. Climbing further, one reaches the natural stone gate, a magnificent wonder towering into the sky. None can remain unmoved by its beauty. One takes in at a glance the elegant beauty of the mountain ranges formed by many rock strata, while the village of Kawai enters one's field of vision like a floating picture. The beauty of rhododendrons and deep mountain azaleas adorning the spring mountains, the place for summer cooling and autumn leaf viewing - this vicinity is where many poets and artists should make their pilgrimages. Furthermore, the newly opened Sanshin Railway connects from Horaiji Railway's Mikawa-Kawai Station, extending north along the nationally renowned scenic Tenryu Gorge via central Tenryu, connecting with the Ina Electric Railway at Tenryukyo Station. Thus the four companies - Toyokawa, Horaiji, Sanshin, and Ina Electric - have united to traverse central Japan, reaching Tatsuno Station on the Chuo Line via Iida City.

County and Gamagata, now equipped with bathing beaches, complete with hotels and restaurants, with quite beautiful scenery, attracting many summer visitors from various places. Taking the Meitetsu line across the Toyokawa River to enter Ina Station. This vicinity is known for having had Ina Castle, being the junction of the Meitetsu Toyokawa Line and watched for future development. Kokufu was on the old Tokaido where the provincial government of Mikawa once stood, with a general shrine at Hakucho in the same town, and Kokubunji Temple and Hachiman Shrine in Hachiman Village, all closely related to the provincial government. The Sagi Slope at the entrance to Saimyoji Temple is also well known. The shrine buildings of Hachiman Shrine are famous as specially protected structures. Zaigaji Temple, located in the mountains over two ri northeast of Hachiman Village, is a famous temple founded by Gyoki at the imperial request of Emperor Shomu. Akasaka Station is near Mt. Miyaji, known since ancient times as a famous spot for autumn leaves. Mt. Miyaji is a historical site of Empress Jito, with an unparalleled view from the summit, excellent for spring bracken picking and autumn mushroom hunting. Nagasawa, Yamanaka, and Honjuku are known from ancient times as old station towns on the Tokaido.
Next, proceeding east from Toyohashi along the Tokaido Railway line, Futagawa Town's Iwaya Kannon, Mt. Takashi, Fumon-ji Temple in Kumotani, Toko-anji Temple in Komatsubara, and Honko-ji Temple in Washizu are historically famous places, with Iwaya Kannon being particularly notable. In the Yana County area, Mt. Ishimaki, Ishimaki Shrine, Honsaka Pass, Suzan Shosho-ji Temple, and Tsukitani Great Cave are among the most famous places.
Furthermore, in the Atsumi Peninsula area, along the Atsumi Electric Railway line in Koike Town there is Choon-ji Temple. It belongs to the Soto Zen sect and is said to have been founded by Gyoki. The Kannon of this temple is called the Kannon of the Tide Path and has been famous since ancient times. Shidanguchi Station is the location of the Army Training School and other military offices, having developed remarkably since the 15th Division headquarters was established at the present location in November 1908, but the 15th Division headquarters was abolished in May 1924 due to military reduction, and it is now under the jurisdiction of the 3rd Division. Osaki, famous for producing dried short-necked clams, is about one ri from Shidanguchi. From Ashihara Station it is about ten cho to Noe Bishamon-ten. Near Oshimizu Station there is the Toyohashi factory of Fuji Gas Spinning, and from Oitsu, Yaguma, and Toyoshima stations it is thirteen cho each to the famous temple Chosenji of Taga Jumyoden.
