がある。田原藩の老臣にして書畫を能くし詩文に長じ、更に海外の事情に通じたる渡邊華山の墓は同町城
寶寺境内にあつて、三宅氏の祖兒島高德を祀る縣社巴神社は舊城址の一隅に鎭座するのである。又田原藩
の執政で火技を研究し造船の法に長じ、後擧げられて藩政を掌つた村上藩政の墓も同町にあつて、片濱海
水浴場へは同町より十八丁である。その他神明社・阿志神社・長興寺・泉村鸚鵡石・福江泉福寺・伊良湖
岬石門・村松、豐川河口では神野新田・前芝など何れも三河の名所舊蹟として廣く紹介する價値がある。

construction from around the 9th year of Enpō (1681). Passing through Tenpaku and Godo stations to enter Tahara, here there are the ruins of Tahara Castle built by Toda Munemitsu during the Meiō era. The grave of Watanabe Kazan, a senior retainer of Tahara Domain who excelled in calligraphy and painting, was skilled in poetry and prose, and was well-versed in foreign affairs, is located in the grounds of Jōhōji Temple in the same town. The prefectural shrine Tomoe Shrine, which enshrines Kojima Takanori, ancestor of the Miyake clan, is situated in a corner of the old castle site. Also in the same town is the grave of Murakami Hansei, who served as chief administrator of Tahara Domain, researched artillery techniques, excelled in shipbuilding methods, and later rose to control domain administration. Katahama Beach is eighteen chō from the town. Other places including Shinmei Shrine, Ashi Shrine, Chōkōji Temple, Ōmu Stone in Izumi Village, Senpukuji Temple in Fukue, the stone gate of Cape Irago, Muramatsu, and at the mouth of the Toyokawa River, Jinno Shinden and Maeshiba - all have value as famous scenic spots and historical sites of Mikawa worthy of wide introduction.
