酒を飲んでも酔わない方法
一 狐の血に黍米（こうりゃん）と麦門冬（バクモンドウ）を漬け込み、陰干しにして丸薬とする。酒を飲む際に、一丸を舌の下に含むと、人を酔わせずに済む。また、よく酒の毒（二日酔いの毒素）を解消する（効果もある）。

一 良い鰹を一節（ひとふし）、皮鰹（表面の硬い部分）を削り捨てる。次に茶碗の割れた部分の尖った所で、その鰹を内側へ引きかき（引っかくように薄く削る）にかくべし。細く薄く、至極見事にかけること、人作（人の手）とは思えないほどの妙技である。

Secret Technique: How to Shave Dried Bonito (Hanagatsuo)
- Take one block of good dried bonito (katsuo) and scrape off and discard the hard outer skin. Then, using the sharp, jagged edge of a broken teacup, draw the bonito inward (toward you) in a scraping motion. The result is astonishingly fine, thin shavings — a truly wondrous technique that seems beyond human craft.
