英語訳

【Right Page, Upper Section】 (Continued from previous page: Treatment for midge bites) — this too is effective. - Also, applying *Mankintan* (a patent medicine) is likewise good. A Method for Keeping the Hearth of a Large Cauldron Clean and Fresh — Preventing It from Turning Black with Soot from Steaming Food, Cooking Miso, and Other Such Uses - When using the hearth of a large cauldron 【Left Page, Upper Section】 for steaming food or cooking miso and the like, paste paper with water onto the face (front upper surface) of the hearth, and quickly coat it over with a thin layer of clay before lighting the fire. After the fire has been used, simply peel the paper away. By doing this, the hearth will remain clean and as good as new for a long time. --- 【Right Page, Lower Section】 Medicine for Chapped Skin (*Akagire*) - On the early morning of the fifth day of the fifth month, pick *nigana* (bitter lettuce / *Ixeris dentata*), squeeze out its juice, and apply it to the areas prone to chapping. This will prevent chapped skin from troubling you for a long time. Medicine for *Koke* (Corns / Calluses) - Take a thick stalk of *hitomoji* (Welsh onion / *Allium fistulosum*), roast it over a flame, split it open, and apply it to the affected area. It will heal at once. Immediate Blood-Stopping for Cuts - Chew tea leaves and apply them to the wound — this is remarkably effective. Excellent Formula for Tooth Decay (*Mushikuiba*) - Scrape the lime (*ishiba*i / calcium compounds) from an old wall, grind it finely into a powder, 【Left Page, Lower Section】 mix it with honey, and roll it into pills the size of Chinese parasol tree seeds (*Firmiana simplex*). Roast the pills thoroughly over a fire, moisten them again with honey, and insert them into the cavity of the decayed tooth. The effect will be felt immediately. Excellent Formula for *Shironamamazu* (Vitiligo / White Patches on Skin) - Soak sulfur in ginger juice and rub it onto the white patches. They will heal immediately. Excellent Formula for *Namazukaze* (Tinea Versicolor / Skin Fungal Discoloration) - Take myoga ginger (finely chopped), alum (*myōban*), a little sulfur, and red lead (*tan* / minium). Wrap these four ingredients in a piece of cloth and rub onto the affected area. Transmitted Method for Immediately Stopping Bleeding
