　　　蚕尻を替る仕法之事
明日蚕尻を替んと思はゝ前夜桑を喰す前に
糖を蚕の上えはら〳〵とむらなく蚕の見ゆる程に
ふりかけて直に切桑を喰す如斯する時は糖
をきらひ桑の上え起出る也其日の朝桑を喰せ
少々間を置箸をもつて器の端ゟ少しつゝ巻
あけて取へし但舟の休迄は此仕法大に早し

又網を以て起る蚕を拾ひ又は蚕を替る仕法
あり先網を蚕の上え敷て其上え桑を二三度
程喰せて其桑の有内ニ網の前後を持引立て
外の器へ網共に敷込也但此網は蚕生れしゟ
蟄（すがく）く迄始終用ゆるなり尤網の目は其時々に
随ひ替る也

現代語訳

蚕の敷物を替える方法のこと

明日蚕の敷物を替えようと思うならば、前夜桑を食べさせる前に砂糖を蚕の上へぱらぱらと偏りなく蚕が見える程度にふりかけて、すぐに切り桑を食べさせる。このようにする時は砂糖を嫌って桑の上へ起き出てくるのである。その日の朝桑を食べさせ、少々間を置いて箸を持って器の端から少しずつ巻き上げて取るべきである。ただし、二眠までは此の方法は大いに早すぎる。

また網を使って起きている蚕を拾う、また蚕を替える方法がある。まず網を蚕の上へ敷いて、その上へ桑を二、三度程食べさせて、その桑がある間に網の前後を持ち引き立てて外の器へ網共に敷き込むのである。ただしこの網は蚕が生まれてから痩せるまで始終用いるものである。もっとも網の目はその時々に随って替えるのである。

On the Method of Changing Silkworm Bedding

If you intend to change the silkworm bedding tomorrow, the night before feeding mulberry, sprinkle sugar evenly over the silkworms so that the silkworms are still visible, then immediately feed them cut mulberry. When you do this, they will dislike the sugar and crawl up onto the mulberry. Feed them mulberry in the morning of that day, wait a little while, then use chopsticks to gradually roll up and remove the bedding from the edge of the container. However, this method is too early to use before the second molting.

There is also a method of picking up active silkworms using a net, or changing the silkworms. First spread a net over the silkworms, then feed mulberry on top of it two or three times. While the mulberry is still there, lift the front and back of the net and transfer everything including the net to another container. This net is used continuously from when the silkworms are born until they become thin. The mesh size of the net should be changed according to the time.
