外の器の中へ前にいふことくに広めて置へし如斯
にして五六日も養はゝ蚕白くはぜて見ゆる也但
蚕生れしゟ獅子の休前は蚕尻を一日置に替る也
一獅子の休起候はゝ桑の葉を少し大きに切是を
はら〳〵とふり掛る暫置て蚕桑に付たる頃
箸にて外の器へ拾（ひろ）ひとる夫ゟ三日めに蚕尻を替る
是を中蚕尻といふ又二日置て蚕尻を替（かへ）る
大方は翌日鷹の休にかゝる也惣て四度の休とも、
明日より休んと思ふ前日は是悲（ぜひ）蚕尾を替へし
一 鷹（たか）の休 起（おき）候はゝ前のことく切桑をかけて外の器（うつは）え
拾ひとる也夫ゟ前の心得にて飼（か）ふへし
一舟の休起（やすみおき）候はゝ前のことくにして蚕尻を替切桑を
一二度喰せ其後 枝桑（ゑだくは）にて養ふへし但此時ゟは
気候（きかふ）に応して高き所の窓（まど）抔は少しは明てもよし

外の器の中へ前に言うごとく広げて置くべきである。このようにして五、六日も養えば蚕は白く膨らんで見えるのである。ただし蚕が生まれてから獅子の休眠前は蚕の敷物を一日置きに替えるのである。
一、獅子の休眠から起きた場合は、桑の葉を少し大きく切り、これをはらはらと振りかける。しばらく置いて蚕が桑に付いた頃、箸で外の器へ拾い取る。それから三日目に蚕の敷物を替える。これを中蚕敷きという。また二日置いて蚕の敷物を替える。
大方は翌日鷹の休眠にかかるのである。総じて四度の休眠とも、明日より休眠に入ると思う前日は、ぜひとも蚕の敷物を替えるべきである。
一、鷹の休眠から起きた場合は前のごとく切り桑をかけて外の器へ拾い取るのである。それから前の心得で飼うべきである。
一、船の休眠から起きた場合は前のごとくにして蚕の敷物を替え、切り桑を一、二度食べさせ、その後枝桑で養うべきである。ただしこの時からは気候に応じて高い所の窓などは少しは開けてもよい。
