【右丁】
淀橋は成子と中野の間に架けられている。大橋と小橋があり、橋のこちら側に水車が回転しているため、山城国の淀川になぞらえて「淀橋」と名付けるべきである旨の上意があったことから、この名前が付いたという。大橋の下を流れているのは神田上水の堀である。

Yodobashi Bridge spans between Naruko and Nakano. There are both a large bridge and a small bridge, and because water wheels turn on this side of the bridge, it was named "Yodobashi" following an imperial command that it should be named after the Yodo River in Yamashiro Province. What flows beneath the large bridge is the canal of the Kanda water supply system.
