して奥羽（あうう）をはしめ房総（はうさう）豆相（とうさう）
東海（とうかい）一路 畿内（きない）濃尾（しやうひ）の諸州
にも未かゝる長松（ちやうしよう）の多きを
見すと新安手簡（しんあんしゆかん）に記（しる）されたり
又社前の大路は往古の鎌倉（かまくら）
街道（かいたう）にして今 土人（としん）正用街道と
唱（とな）へたり上高井戸（かみたかいと）に鎌倉橋（かまくらはし）

当社の広前（境内の広場）にある老松は、すらりとそびえ立ち、雲をも払うかのようで、数百年の風格を示している。白石先生（新井白石）もこの松を賞賛して、「奥羽をはじめ、房総・豆相（伊豆・相模）・東海道一路・畿内・濃尾（美濃・尾張）の諸国においても、これほど多くの長大な松を見たことがない」と『新安手簡』に記されている。
また、社前の大路は往古の鎌倉街道であり、今は土地の人々が「正用街道」と呼んでいる。上高井戸に「鎌倉橋」と呼ばれるものがあるのも、古くからの街道であった旧称であるという。

The ancient pine trees standing before this shrine rise magnificently, as if sweeping away the very clouds, bearing the dignified appearance of several hundred years. Master Arai Hakuseki also praised these pines, and in his *Shin'an Shukan* wrote that "beginning with Ōu (the Tōhoku region) and extending to Bōsō (Kazusa and Shimōsa), Tōsō (Izu and Sagami), along the entire Tōkaidō route, the Kinai region, and the provinces of Nōbi (Mino and Owari)—never have I seen so great a number of such tall and magnificent pines as these."
Furthermore, the great road in front of the shrine is the ancient Kamakura Highway, which the local inhabitants today call the "Shōyō Kaidō" (Shōyō Highway). It is said that what is called "Kamakura Bridge" in Kami-Takaidō also derives its name from this old designation as a former highway of ancient times.
