【右丁】
大きくはないけれど、その昔から代々特に愛でて
もてはやしてきたからでしょうか、今もまったく伝わり
続けています。昔から「源氏を見ない歌詠みは遺恨の事
である」などと先達たちもおっしゃったのは、作者の面目と
言うべきでしょう。詠み出した歌は『狭衣物語』より劣っていると
言った愚か者もいるようですが、それは浅はかなこと
です。その人々の有様や心持ちをよく理解

して、それぞれの言葉遣いにふさわしく詠んだ調子は、この
物語をよくよく読んだ人は分かるべきこと
なので、ことさらに愛でるのも古めかしく思われる
かもしれませんが、『風葉集』に選ばれた人々の歌によって
も知られるべきことです。ここに我が友人である黒澤氏は早く
から『源氏物語』を特に好まれて、明け暮れに心
を入れて読み親しまれるあまり、なんとかしてこの物語
