第二十二章 溏泄不＿レ可＿レ忽
下利如＿レ傾￣カ、気血倶￣ニ脱￣スル者、多￣クハ致＿二反掌之変＿一、其原係＿二￣ル於腸-
襞萎-薾＿一￣ニ、急￣ニ可＿二保止＿一、不＿レ及則斃￣ル、凡此￣ノ症下-利止￣ヰハ則余症

初発ヨリ溏泄シテ目陥リ、熱手-足ニ達セザル者ハ、

香りのあるものを交互に用いる。また外用として白芥子糊を貼付する（処方は下巻第三章に出ている）。
初起で脈が堅実、顔が赤く眼光が爛々とし、頭痛が割れるようである場合は、水蛭を顳顬（こめかみ）に貼付する。また嘔吐下痢があり、舌苔が穢れて黄色く、胃中に毒を挟む症状では、少し吐下剤を与えてもよい（処方は下巻第十章第十一章に出ている）。病気がすでに日を経ている場合は斟酌すべきである。
第一 揮発飲（自験方） 主治：初起の悪寒発熱、脈数頭痛、四肢疼痛を治療する
春女郎花 二銭 接骨木花 五分 蛇根 二分（または細辛で代用する）
右の三味を水一合三勺で煮て一合まで煮詰め、滓を去って温服する。
下痢がある場合は、阿片融液五滴を加える。脈が堅実で焮腫を伴う症状では、精硝石一分、または葡萄酢十滴を加える。
蛇根は気味が芬芳辛苦でやや収斂性があり、神経を健やかにし、汗を発し、痺れを回復させ、邪毒を駆る効果がある。また能く諸毒を解する。
第二十二章 溏泄（下痢）を軽視してはならない
下痢が激流のように激しく、気血が共に脱する場合は、多くは反掌の変（急変）を招く。その原因は腸襞の萎縮にあり、急いで保止すべきで、間に合わなければ死に至る。凡そこの症状では下痢が止まれば他の症状は治療しなくても自然に退く。
初発から溏泄し目が陥り、熱が手足に達しない場合は、

In initial stages with firm pulse, red face, brilliant eyes, and splitting headache, apply leeches to the temples. For symptoms with vomiting and diarrhea, dirty yellow tongue coating, and toxic retention in the stomach, one may administer small amounts of emetic and purgative agents (prescriptions appear in Chapters 10 and 11 of the lower volume). For cases where the disease has already progressed for days, careful consideration is required.
First Formula: Volatile Decoction (Personal Experience Formula) - Main Treatment: treats initial chills and fever, rapid pulse with headache, and pain in the four limbs
Patrinia - 2 sen, Elderflower - 5 bu, Snakeroot - 2 bu (or substitute with Asarum)
Take these three ingredients with 1 gō 3 shaku of water, boil down to 1 gō, remove the dregs and take warm.
For diarrhea, add 5 drops of opium solution. For symptoms with firm pulse accompanied by inflammatory swelling, add 1 bu of refined saltpeter or 10 drops of grape vinegar.
Snakeroot has an aromatic, acrid-bitter taste with slight astringent properties. It strengthens the nerves, promotes sweating, restores numbness, and expels pathogenic toxins. It is also capable of resolving various toxins.
Chapter 22: Diarrhea Must Not Be Neglected
When diarrhea flows like a torrent and both qi and blood are depleted, it often leads to sudden fatal changes. The cause lies in intestinal fold atrophy, and urgent measures must be taken to stop it - if not timely, death will result. Generally with this condition, once the diarrhea stops, other symptoms will naturally recede without treatment.
