妄語や空中を掴む動作、筋肉の痙攣や肉の震え、身体の疼痛、羞明（光を嫌い）暗所を好む、不眠や動悸、下痢が止まらない、知覚敏感で触れられることを嫌がる症状がある者には悉く阿片を用いる。しかし炎症による腫れや昏睡があり、血が頭脳に注ぐ症状がある者には大いに禁じる。
第二十八章 麝香の気味効能
麝香は揮発走竄し、刺激作用を持続させる力があり、通らないところはなく、また渋滞凝着の弊害もない。神を安んじ血を巡らせ、伏邪を除き悪気を駆逐する。美質良才であり、もとより凶徳はない。虚極の人でも単味で用いることができる。
第二十九章 麝香の主治
精神昏沈、血液敗脱の人に単味で服用させれば、神を奮い沈を揚げ、熱邪を駆逐し、その功は絶倫である。また阿片と併用すれば二味がその力を合わせて輔車相依の利を成す。
筋肉の痙攣や震え、痙攣性の攣急、精神昏瞶で人事を省みない、あるいは空中を掴む動作や妄語、皮膚乾燥の者には、皆麝香が宜しい。また胸膜攣急、喘鳴咳嗽の者には殊に験がある。漏汗が止まない者には斟酌して用いるべきである。
麝香は愛すべき香りがあり、愛は神経が悦び好むという意義がある。これをもってその揮発する塩梅が、神経を苦しめずして痒笑し勇ましくする。虚極の患者に用いて害がない。他の刺激剤のようなものは、神経が愛し好む性質がないをもって、
