現代語訳
過量になれば、ただ胃膜を傷つけ血脈を損なうだけで、その害もまた浅くはない。滲透刺発の油を擦って外路によってこれを攻めるのが適している。
外路とは腠理の吸脈である。吸脈は静脈の末梢に属する。故に薬が直ちに血脈に入る近道であり、その効果は浅くない。
第一 揮発擦液（ヴィーヘラルト方） 主治：精神錯乱、昏睡、体器麻痺
アンモニア精
右一味を四肢下身に擦る。昼夜七、八次。
第二 揮発擦液（同上）
マティリカ精 竜脳（各三オンス。一オンスは、およそ我が邦では八銭強）
バルサムヒター、ホフマン（二オンス。碩按：ホフマンが創製したバルサム）
右三味を擂鉢内で攪拌均一にして供用する。神気沈衰して絶えんとする者は、方中に硇砂精液四銭を加える。四肢および諸部に擦るのがよい。昼夜七、八次、劇症では毎時一次。
揮発擦油（自験方）
胆礬油（十銭） 鹿角精（二銭） 竜脳油（一銭）
右を擂鉢内で調合均一にして供用する。
英語訳
If used in excess, it will merely injure the gastric membrane and damage the blood vessels, and the harm is also not insignificant. It is appropriate to rub penetrating and stimulating oils and attack through external pathways.
External pathways refer to the absorbing vessels of the skin's texture. Absorbing vessels belong to the peripheral ends of the veins. Therefore, medicine enters the blood vessels through a direct route, and its effectiveness is not superficial.
First Volatile Rubbing Liquid (Vieheler's formula) Main treatment: mental confusion, coma, bodily paralysis
Ammonia spirit
Apply this single ingredient to the four limbs and lower body. Seven to eight times day and night.
Second Volatile Rubbing Liquid (same as above)
Matricaria spirit, Camphor (3 ounces each. One ounce is approximately 8 sen strong in our country)
Balsam Hitar, Hoffmann (2 ounces. Seki's note: Balsam created by Hoffmann)
Mix these three ingredients evenly in a mortar for use. For those whose vital energy is declining and about to expire, add 4 sen of sal ammoniac spirit liquid to the formula. It is good to rub on the four limbs and various parts. Seven to eight times day and night, for severe symptoms once every hour.
Volatile Rubbing Oil (Self-tested formula)
Vitriol oil (10 sen), Hartshorn spirit (2 sen), Camphor oil (1 sen)
Mix these evenly in a mortar for use.
