○先生はかつて西洋内科書十余篇を訳し、ついに内科則若干巻を著した。我々は今その書から神経疫篇を抄出し、その綱要を総括してこの冊子を作り、版木に刻んで世に公にするものである。この篇は最もフーヘラント・コンスブリュックの著すところに係るものである。二書はいずれも近世において刊行されたもので、論は最も明確で、術は極めて精良である。ただし原書には軍陣においてこの患いを生じる弊害を多く記すが、文脈が枝分かれし、事柄は無用に属するので、故に今これを略して挙げない。しかしながら病症の変転の目から治療機変の策に至るまで、一切臆断を用いず、皆全説から出ているので、見る者はこれを察せよ。
○原名はツェーニューコールツ、これを神経熱と訳す。蓋し熱の発するところが神経に係るからである。

○The master once translated over ten Western medical texts and subsequently authored several volumes of Internal Medicine Principles. We have now extracted the section on nervous epidemics from those works, summarized the essential points, created this booklet, and published it for the world. This section is most closely based on the works of Hufeland and Consbruch. Both books were published in recent times, their theories are most clear and definite, and their techniques extremely refined. However, the original works contain many records of the harmful effects of this disease in military camps, but as the narrative branches out and the matters are of no practical use, we have therefore abbreviated and omitted them. Nevertheless, from the stages of disease transformation to the strategies for therapeutic intervention, nothing relies on speculation—all emerges from complete exposition, so let readers take note.
○The original name is "Zeenieuw-koorts," translated as "nervous fever." This is because the fever that develops is related to the nervous system.
