つね候やらんふしぎにこそ候へそのうら
しまとやらんはや七百ねんいぜんの事
と申つたへ候とかたりけれはたらうお
ほきにさはぎこはそもいかなる事ぞと
てそのいはれをありのまゝにかたりけ
れはおきなもふしきのおもひをなし
なみたをながし申けるはあれにみえて
候ふるきつかふるきせきたうこそその
人のびやうしよと申つたへて候へとて
ゆびをさしてをしへけりたらうはなく

現代語訳
尋ね候やらん、不思議にこそ候へ。その浦島とやらんは、はや七百年以前の事と申し伝え候」と語りければ、太郎大いに騒ぎ「これはそもいかなる事ぞ」とて、その謂れをありのままに語りければ、翁も不思議の思いをなし、涙を流し申しけるは「あれに見えて候古き塚、古き石塔こそ、その人の廟所と申し伝えて候へ」とて、指を差して教えけり。太郎は泣く泣く草深く露繁き野辺を分け、古き塚に参り涙を流し、一首詠みけるはこのようである。
