二十四日の雷は坂下加藤様へも落ち、湊へも三ヶ所ほど落ち候由。大貫二ヶ所、額田にて二人並びに馬一匹、杉村にて魚売り候人、落雷即死の由。滝坂岩善の山へも落つ。
二十七日 朝霧降る。朝より暑気、大暑、土用中のことなり（八十度、明け方地震、八時九十五度）。
二十八日 朝霧降る。午前十時過ぎより照り立ち大暑、風なし。凌ぎ兼ね候ほどなり。夜中も風なし。夕方少々雷声（朝八十二度、午前八時九十五度、朝地震、夜四時地震）。

英語訳
Lightning struck the warehouse. The sake brewery building, which was about 12-13 ken long, was struck in the middle of its ridge. Although the carpenters tried to restrain [the owner] regarding the ridge beam that had been struck by lightning, Kihei would not listen and used it anyway - truly a frightening thing.
Lightning also struck the enoki tree at Kōtaiji Temple and the new residence area. In the lower town, it also struck Taishidō.
Also struck within the Hachiman Shrine grounds.
25th day: Scattered clouds in the morning, cool, clear weather (70 degrees)
26th day: Good weather from morning, with black clouds in the east. Clear and hot from after 10 AM (76 degrees, earthquake at dawn).
The lightning on the 24th also struck the Katō residence at Sakashita, and about three places in Minato. Two places in Ōnuki, two people and one horse in Nukada, a fish seller in Sugimura - all died instantly from lightning strikes. Also struck Mount Iwayoshi at Takisaka.
27th day: Morning fog. Hot from morning, great heat, as is usual during the dog days of summer (80 degrees, earthquake at dawn, 95 degrees at 8 o'clock).
