Next, the assistant deputy distributes the sacred confections.
The items consist of ten varieties of sacred confections, along with one hōtō (rice cake), one shiiba-mochi (oak leaf rice cake), etc., wrapped in paper, placed in sacred chests, and brought forth, with each package being received respectfully. The distribution of these sacred confections occurs three times - after the removal [of offerings] from the Great Festival, Harvest Thanksgiving Festival, and Special Festivals, when the left and right portions are combined at the offering hall, placed in wooden containers, set on round trays, and distributed by the tone officials under the deputy administrator's direction. The seats for head persons and below follow the same procedure. However, at this time, the hana-mochi (flower rice cakes) are distributed separately. For other sacred ceremonies, at the Western Imperial Food Office, the deputy administrator passes them to the assistant, so both left and right portions are combined into three servings with small portions added like the wrapped paper, and hōtō, shiiba-mochi, etc., are distributed at the same location, each wrapped individually and distributed by the assistant deputy. The remaining assistant deputy direct meetings also follow the same procedure for head persons and below. However, outside the shrine officials, approximately four pieces each of hōtō, shiiba-mochi, etc., are cut and included.
At this time, toso and five献 [Note: changed to three献 from Kanpō 4th year] are placed in sake servers, then the five officials take seats at the main building for the evening offering direct meeting.
Wearing one complete set, sacred rice is placed in three portions, one bowl of sacred vegetables, two cuts of needlefish are placed in earthenware vessels and set on food trays. Next, three-cut items and the following sacred rice are placed on trays and distributed, and the rear seats are also distributed with red [sake]. Particularly after announcing the sacred chopsticks is completed and the notification items are distributed, the five officials return to their original seats.
Along with Kataoka and below for direct meetings, next hōtō, shiiba-mochi, etc., are placed on trays and distributed.
The above concerns the withdrawal from the seven shrines. The deputy administrator brings them out and has the tone officials distribute them. One hōtō, one shiiba-mochi each for direct meetings, only on New Year's Day like this.
Next, the assistant deputy distributes shitsue (ritual implements).
They are placed in containers and distributed to left and right. The above-mentioned seated attendant receives five gō of cloudy sake at the deputy's residence the day before. This is done for every sacred ceremony.
Next, regarding the distribution of notification items, next the shrine officials and below each rise from their seats, next the head priest and below at the left and right in front of the second torii
