They bow once and open the sacred doors (each moves from their seat and prostrates). Next, the head priest rises and advances to the bottom of the stairs, the hafuri descends the stairs and they stand in line, bow once together, and enter the inner sanctuary. Next, from the chief negi to the shrine affairs representative, they rise in order, advance to the bottom of the stairs, stand in line for one bow, and divide to the left and right to wait at the top and bottom of the stairs. Next, they roll up the sacred curtain. Next, from the negi side (announcing "御先" first), they advance with hollyhock (placing eight pieces of hollyhock and one katsura branch on small round seats and circular trays). Next, from the hafuri side (same as the negi side). Next, they lower the sacred curtain. Next, the shrine officials advance in order from the lowest rank to the bottom of the stairs, stand in line for one bow, and return to their seats. Next, the assistant passes the sacred key to the hafuri of the seven shrines (to the Kifune dual officials hafuri side, seating as before). Next, the shrine officials of the seven shrines rise (with the Kataoka dual officials going first, same as before), and proceed to visit their respective shrines (making pilgrimage rounds to the shrines along the route). They present hollyhock and katsura (however, for Ōta clan deity shrine, this is done in conjunction with the sacred cleaning). The procedure is: first bow once toward the sacred presence, then the dual officials and attendants take their seats in the worship hall. Next, the hafuri rises, advances to the earthen area, and bows once (there is no removal of shoes). He ascends to the great floor, bows once, and opens the sacred doors (moving from seats and prostrating). Next, the negi rises and advances to the earthen area, the hafuri descends the stairs and they stand in line, bow once together and enter the inner sanctuary for one bow. Next, the attendant rises and advances to the earthen area. Next, they roll up the sacred curtain. Next, they advance with hollyhock and katsura (eight pieces of hollyhock in two sets and two katsura branches - this portion goes into the sacred chest). The dual officials take the hollyhock and katsura and arrange them on top of the sacred offering tray. They remove the sacred chest, the attendant takes it and passes it to the sword-bearer, then returns to seat. Next, they lower the sacred curtain. Next, the dual officials bow once, exit the inner sanctuary for one bow, descend the stairs for one bow, and return to their seats. Next, they rise and bow twice, recite prayers, and clap twice. Upon completion, the hafuri rises, advances to the great floor, and closes the sacred doors (in the same manner as initially, moving from seats and prostrating). Next, the attendant passes the sacred lock wrapping to the hafuri, the hafuri completes wrapping the sacred lock and bows once, descends the stairs and bows once. The negi rises, each withdraws and makes pilgrimage rounds to the shrines, then takes seats under the eaves of the tower gate (arranged westward, facing north). (On the 15th day of the 4th month of Hōreki 8, serving concurrently as substitute for the Ōta negi, for proceeding to Ōta shrine, hollyhock from both negi and hafuri sides totaling four sets - with each set being four pieces making eight pieces, thirty-two pieces total. Additionally, one katsura branch is provided. What is removed on the festival day is the dual officials' direct meeting feast) Next, after the assistant negi hafuri and chief negi hafuri bow once together, they take their places in the prayer recitation hall (each outside their own viewing area, and especially during the exact middle time, they humbly bow down). After the head priest bows once together, he takes his seat for prayer recitation (within his own viewing area). Next, when the assistant hears that the Kataoka earth festival official has arrived and is at the transparent corridor Wakamiya negi seat, the five officials rise and bow twice, the assistant descends to the outer veranda and announces that the earth festival has concluded. Next, they recite prayers and clap twice. Next, the chief negi and assistant negi hafuri cross the small courtyard and wait at the hafuri side. Next, the chief hafuri rises.
