二月　松平千次郎

一、同日、大目付中より領分人別改めの件について左の通り回状が来た。

覚
一、去る丑年に提出した通り、諸国領地の百姓・町人・社人・男女・僧尼等、その他の者共まで残らず今年改めて調査し、総人数を郡ごとに書き記して領分限りで提出すべきである。この度は田畑の町歩数を書き出すには及ばず、人数のみ書き付けて当四月より霜月（十一月）までの間、都合次第提出すべきである。もっとも何月に調査したか、何歳以上と認めたかという説明を加えて申すべきである。なお武家方の奉公人並びに又者（中間）は書き出すには及ばない。

一、今後は相触するには及ばず、子年と午年に今年の通り心得るべきである。

右の趣旨について、万石以上並びに老中・若年寄中の支配で触れ回すべきである。もし理解し難い件があれば、なお勘定所へ問い合わせるべきである。今年から何年か経ってその年になれば、右の通り書き出すよう伝達すべきである。もちろん子年・午年ということであれば、今年より七年目［　］

1. On the same day, a circular notice came from the ō-metsuke regarding the population census of domain territories as follows:

1. As submitted in the previous Year of the Ox, all farmers, townspeople, shrine personnel, men and women, Buddhist monks and nuns, and all other persons in the territories of various provinces shall be surveyed again this year without exception. The total population shall be recorded by district and submitted within the domain boundaries. This time there is no need to record the acreage of rice fields and other farmland; only population figures should be recorded and submitted at your convenience between the 4th month and the 11th month of this year.
