跋
画は声なきの詩詩は形なきの画にして
俳諧も又形なきの画々は声なきの俳諧
ならんか粤に石寿観秀國勝龍水生の
写生の魚つくしを得て是に俳句を求め
海の幸と名つけ二帖となし余に跋せよと請
先輩既に序文に其言尽されたるへし亦
何をか云んと是を開きみれはこゆるきの

磯はしらす魚の肆に立るかことし傍なる人戯
に云絵の魚似たる事は似たれとも形のみにして
味なしと余云味は人々の句中にありて時の
景物植物なと取合せ酢を和し醤を以って
烹炙心にまかせて塩梅あらはをのつから
骨あり肉あり味あらん歟と独菴中買明
其後へに述

跋
絵は声のない詩であり、詩は形のない絵である。
俳諧もまた形のない絵であり、絵は声のない俳諧
であろうか。ここに石寿観秀國勝龍水生の
写生による魚尽くしを得て、これに俳句を求め、
「海の幸」と名付け二帖となし、私に跋文を書けと請われた。
先輩が既に序文でその言葉を尽くされているであろう。また
何を言おうかと、これを開いて見れば、ゆるやかな

磯ではなく魚の店に立っているかのようである。傍らにいる人が戯れに
言うには、絵の魚が似ていることは似ているけれども、形だけであって
味がないと。私は言う、味は人々の句の中にあって、時の
景物や植物などを取り合わせ、酢を和し醤油をもって
調理し、心のままに塩梅を調え表すなら、おのずから
骨があり肉があり味があるであろうかと。独庵中買明

Postscript
Painting is poetry without voice, and poetry is painting without form.
Haikai too is painting without form, and painting is haikai without voice—
is this not so? Here I have obtained fish drawings from life by Sekiju Kanshū Kuni Katsu Ryūsui,
and was asked to compose haiku for them,
naming it "Treasures of the Sea," making it into two volumes, and requested to write a postscript.
A senior has already exhausted his words in the preface.
What more shall I say? When I open this and look, it flows gently

Not on rocky shores but as if standing in a fish market. A person nearby jokingly
says that while the painted fish do resemble real ones, they are only form
without taste. I say that taste lies within people's verses, and when
seasonal scenes and plants are combined, vinegar is blended and soy sauce is used for
cooking, and seasoning is expressed freely according to one's heart, naturally there will be
bones and flesh and taste. Dokuanchu Baimei
