此度村方八百八と申者御召捕に相成御不審筋
有金子取扱之儀共御尋御座候得共押包罷
在候趣承及候得共右之者え私金子相頼候
之儀御座候に付委細之儀申上私え御咎被仰付
右八百八御慈悲筋奉願上度以役人申上候処

此段申上候私儀当三月下旬飯田表八幡と
申所に楮之仕切勘定に参り候処其節

この度、村方の八百八と申す者が御召し捕りとなり、不審な筋の有金子取扱いの件について御尋ねがございましたが、押し包んで控えている趣を承り及びましたが、右の者へ私が金子を相頼みした件がございますので、詳細の件を申し上げ、私へ御咎めを仰せ付けられ、右八百八への御慈悲の筋をお願い申し上げたく、役人を以て申し上げましたところ、御呼び出しを賜り御尋ねをいただきました御答え

Recently, a person from our village called Happyaku-hachi was arrested, and there was an inquiry regarding the handling of suspicious gold coins. Although I understand that he has been keeping quiet about the matter, since I had entrusted money to this person, I wished to provide details of the matter and requested that any blame be directed toward me, while pleading for merciful treatment of the said Happyaku-hachi. When I made this request through an official, I was summoned for questioning. This is my response:
I hereby state the following regarding my case. At the end of this past March, when I went to a place called Hachiman in Iida for paper mulberry settlement accounts, at that time I had a conversation about money exchange with a person called Hanaya Yasuke from Temma-cho.
