その後二人とも水魚の交わりとなり、喜惣八は銭百文になり、二八は仙台[不明]にて、両人共に無表にて、医食同源の絵の一つ[不明]と見暮らし追うものとりとはいうものか。食解ければ大いに惑い養心、二日肝も寝かい養心、働くほど食える者、食えぬ折には心で献立うまく仕掛け。寿命のため二人の知恵にあやかりて食い付く事だに言われてもこの長書きを見るにつけ

After that, the two became as close as fish and water. Kisōhachi earned a hundred mon in coins, and Niha went to Sendai [...]. Both men remained expressionless, and as for the principle that medicine and food share the same source - one wonders if this is what they call pursuing such things while living day by day. When digestion is complete, the mind becomes greatly confused and nourished; for two days the liver cannot rest and the mind is nourished; those who work hard can eat well, but when they cannot eat, they cleverly devise menus in their minds. Even when told to follow the wisdom of these two for the sake of longevity and to eat accordingly, upon reading this lengthy account:
"Life exists in food" - this is exactly what this means.
