観光丸に相乗り、神奈川へ応接に罷り越す。営中においては大宮まで御用があり、右の係りの者居残り、夜五つ時頃退散。諸家の御台場固めを持つ大名の留守居を呼び出し、御一報次第固めを行うよう御達しがあった事。

一昨十八日四時頃、神奈川よりアメリカ早船二艘着船、諸国の早船三四十艘追々参る風説あり。礫川御用在の某より鴨志田伝五郎まで注進があった事。右の通り俘虜の情報として承った。応接の模様がいかに出来上がるか相分からず申さず。六月十八日夜相渡し。

去る十三日下田湊へアメリカ国の蒸気船二艘入津いたし、同様の官吏乗り組み、右一艘は昨十七日小柴沖へ入津いたし。ロシア船一艘は一昨十六日下田へ渡来、引き続き入津するつもりと相聞く。且つまた、イギリス・フランス船も近々江戸近海へ渡来するであろうとの由申し立てているので、心得として相達す。右の趣を向々へ早々達すべし。
