山中筋川添村々ハ勿論川中島辺之儀は此程御届申上候通り
川除古堤不残押流候儀ニ有之候へ共尚又如何様之水
災ニ及可申哉難計心痛仕候此上之手当精々申付置候
且又右鹿谷村分地字柳窪組之耕地崩出右
谷川湛留尤細流ニ候へ共数十日を経右場所押破候は
是又不容易不容易災害ニ可在之之旨訴出候ニ付早速見分
差出申候猶委細之儀は追而可申上候得共先此段御届

現代語訳
山中筋川添の村々は勿論のこと、川中島辺りの件については、この度お届け申し上げた通り、川除けの古い堤防が残らず押し流された件がございますが、なお又どのような水害に及ぶか計り難く心痛しております。この上の手当てを精一杯申し付けております。
また右の鹿谷村分地字柳窪組の耕地が崩れ出し、右の谷川に水が溜まっております。もっとも細い流れではございますが、数十日を経て右の場所が押し破られたならば、これもまた容易ならざる災害となる旨を訴え出たため、早速見分を差し出しました。なお詳細については追って申し上げますが、まずこの段お届け申し上げます。以上

Although it is only a thin stream, if that location breaks after several dozen days, it was reported that this would also become a serious disaster. Therefore, we immediately sent out an inspection. At my residence in Takada, Kubiki County, Echigo Province, the damage from the great earthquakes of the 24th and 29th of the month before last is as follows:

- Second and third baileys, various gates, surrounding walls, bridges, and resting places severely damaged
- Ote-mon bridge, right embankment over thirty ken, left embankment over twenty ken severely cracked
- Roads inside and outside the castle cracked and split in various places
- One guard station severely damaged - Three ashigaru guard stations damaged
- Rice storage warehouse damaged - Training ground damaged
- Seventy-nine samurai residences severely damaged - Eighteen stipend rice storage row houses severely damaged
