一 御祈祷料

右当年も季候不宜其上信濃越後国
地震ニ付世上安全御祈祷修業之儀被
仰入依之被遣之旨於洞目之間伊勢守殿以御書付
被 仰渡候
右ハ御廻状留ニ有之
信濃守儀参勤時節之儀奉伺候処当六月中参府可
仕旨被 仰出難有仕合奉存候然処追々御届申上候通り
去月廿四日夜未曾有之大地震ニ而城内始家中城下町共
破損所并潰家等夥敷有之別而領分村々之儀ニ付潰家
死失人等夥敷其上田畑道路地面震裂土砂泥水等
吹出シ殊ニ山中筋ハ山抜崩覆等ニ而一村人畜共地
中え押埋候村々も不少就中更級郡山平林村
之内山抜崩犀川押埋水流堰留数日相湛
水嵩弐拾丈余ニ及候間川辺村々水中ニ相成
申候尤巌石ニ而数十町之間堰留候儀ニ而水勢

右、当年も季候が良くなく、その上信濃・越後国の
地震につき、世上安全の御祈祷修業の儀を
仰せ入れられ、これにより遣わされる旨、洞目の間において伊勢守殿より御書付を以て
仰せ渡されました。
右は御廻状留にございます。
信濃守の儀につき参勤の時節のことをお伺いしたところ、当六月中に参府すべき旨を
仰せ出され、有難き仕合いと存じております。然るところ、追々お届け申し上げました通り、
先月二十四日夜の未曾有の大地震により、城内をはじめ家中・城下町とも
破損箇所並びに潰れ家等が夥しくございます。別して領分の村々の儀につき、潰れ家、
死傷人等が夥しく、その上田畑・道路の地面が震裂し、土砂・泥水等が
吹き出し、殊に山中筋は山抜け・崩れ・覆い等により、一村の人畜ともに地
中へ押し埋められた村々も少なくございません。就中、更級郡山平林村
の内で山抜け・崩れが犀川を押し埋め、水流が堰き留められ数日間湛えられ、
水嵩が二十丈余りに及びましたので、川辺の村々が水中に相成り
ました。もっとも巌石により数十町の間堰き留められた儀であり、水勢は

Regarding the above, this year too the seasonal weather has been poor, and furthermore due to the
earthquakes in Shinano and Echigo provinces, orders have been given
to conduct prayer ceremonies for public safety and peace. Accordingly, this has been dispatched, and
this matter was conveyed through a written notice from Ise-no-kami-dono at the Dōme room.

Regarding the matter of Shinano-no-kami's sankin (alternate attendance) schedule, when I inquired,
I was informed that he should come to Edo in June of this year, which I consider a most grateful arrangement. However, as I have repeatedly reported,
due to the unprecedented great earthquake on the night of the 24th of last month, beginning with the castle interior, both the samurai residences and castle town
suffered extensive damage and collapsed houses. Particularly regarding the villages in my domain, there were numerous collapsed houses and
casualties, and furthermore the ground of fields and roads cracked, with earth, sand, muddy water, etc.
