天妃霊応記

天妃は莆田湄洲嶼の林氏の女である。《割書：張学礼記に云う。天妃は蔡氏の女、猴嶼人という。これは正しくない。》父の名は愿。《割書：字は惟愨という。母は王氏。一説に云う。林孚の第六女。》宋の初めに都巡検の官職に就いていた。妃は生まれながらにして神霊であった。

少女の頃、他の女子たちと井戸を覗いていると、神が銅符を捧げ持って現れ、妃に授けた。他の女子たちは驚いて逃げた。この時から度々神異を現した。常に一枚の席に乗って海を渡った。人々は皆、通賢霊女と称した。

ある日、機織りをしていると、突然機に寄りかかり瞑想して座った。顔色が変わった。母が蹴り起こして問うと、目覚めて泣いた。「父は無事です。兄は亡くなりました」と言った。しばらくして知らせが届いた。父と兄が海を渡る際、舟が覆った。まるで誰かが挟み支えるかのようで、父は溺れずに済んだ。兄は舵が壊れたため、ついに海に堕ちて死んだ。雍熙四年、湄州嶼で昇化した。《割書：張学礼記に云う。父を救おうと海に身を投じて亡くなった。これは正しくない。一説に云う。妃は建隆元年庚申、三月二十三日に生まれた。》

Record of the Divine Response of Tianfei

Tianfei was a daughter of the Lin family from Meizhou Islet in Putian. 《Marginal note: Zhang Xueli's record says that Tianfei was a daughter of the Cai family from Houyu. This is incorrect.》 Her father's name was Yuan. 《Marginal note: His courtesy name was Weique. Her mother was of the Wang family. Another account says she was the sixth daughter of Lin Fu.》 At the beginning of the Song dynasty, he served as Capital Patrol Inspector. The goddess was born with divine spirit.

As a young girl, when looking into a well with other girls, a deity appeared holding a bronze talisman and bestowed it upon her. The other girls fled in terror. From this time on, she frequently manifested divine phenomena. She would常ly ride on a single mat to cross the sea. People all called her the Wise and Spiritual Maiden.

One day, while weaving, she suddenly leaned against the loom and sat in meditation. Her complexion changed dramatically. Her mother kicked her awake and questioned her. Upon awakening, she wept and said, "Father is safe, but elder brother has perished." After a while, news arrived. When father and elder brother were crossing the sea, their boat capsized. As if someone were supporting him, the father managed not to drown. The elder brother, due to the broken rudder, finally fell into the sea and died. In the fourth year of Yongxi, she ascended and was transformed at Meizhou Islet. 《Marginal note: Zhang Xueli's record says she threw herself into the sea to save her father and died. This is incorrect. Another account says the goddess was born on the twenty-third day of the third month in the first year of Jianlong, Gengshen.》
