現代語訳
継続して用いるときは、鬱熱と胎毒が泄下し長寿する。この児に痘瘡や麻疹が見られたら紫円を常よりも多く用い、初発時に大いに下すべきである。怠慢にすれば悪症が必ず出現して救われなくなる。麻疹や痘瘡でも初発時に直視することがある。便秘の児は苦しいが下せば治るのである。熱が強く腹が下る児はたびたび発症し慢驚風のようになるのは治し難い。初めに下痢を嫌わず清熱浄腑の薬を用いてよい。補渋理中の剤は慎重に考慮すべきである。
麻疹で衄血が出るのはよい。熾烈な熱が血分より解するのである。排毒解毒の剤を用いてよい。傷寒論の例によって桂麻の剤は必ずしも用いる必要はない。

When used continuously, stagnant heat and fetal toxins are purged downward, leading to longevity. When smallpox or measles appears in such children, use Purple Pills more than usual and purge greatly at the initial onset. If one is negligent, malignant symptoms will inevitably appear and the child cannot be saved. In measles and smallpox, there are cases of staring fixedly at the initial onset. Children with constipation suffer, but they recover when purged. Children with strong fever and diarrhea frequently relapse and become like chronic infantile convulsions, which are difficult to treat. Do not avoid diarrhea at the beginning; it is appropriate to use medicines for clearing heat and purifying the bowels. Tonifying, astringent, and center-regulating formulas should be used with careful consideration.
When epistaxis occurs in measles, it is good. This is because intense heat is resolved from the blood aspect. It is appropriate to use formulas for expelling and detoxifying poison. According to the examples in the Treatise on Cold Damage, formulas with cinnamon and ephedra need not necessarily be used.
