現代語訳
袋の口が閉まっているゆえに、何ほど入れても脇へ漏れるのである。その如く昼夜の嘔吐により胃の気が上へつき、胃中は空虚になり、心下は堅くなっている。ゆえに胃は上よりものを受け、消化して下へ送るのが役目であるのに、その常度を失い、吐くばかりになっている。これを病人に「それは薬だ」と言うと起きて飲む。その薬は胃中に納まらず、食道の胃の上口へ行くところで、病人が元の如く寝るゆえにすぐに吐するのである。
その病人には愚按にて皆嘔吐が止むのである。愚按は左の如し。まず病人をそのまま寝かせておき、管を以て水を一口吸わすのである。さてその後の何もないもの（空気）を今一口飲ますのである。初の一吸の水が食道より胃の上口にあるところを、後の空を飲むことで、始めの水が胃へ納まるのである。そのところにて病人の気を鎮め、胸を一二度さすりさて一味半夏湯でも甘草乾姜湯でも竹葉石膏湯、附子粳米湯、三黄湯、呉茱萸湯でも、病症に相応の薬を、水を飲ませし服法を以て飲み加減

When the first sip of water is at the upper opening of the stomach from the esophagus, by swallowing the subsequent emptiness, the initial water settles into the stomach.
