麻疹の毒熱により癇発・狂乱するものがある。辰砂を白湯にて与うべし。薬剤は白虎湯、三黄湯等を用いるべし。さて発狂の治方は様々あるうち、吐剤はみだりに与うべからず。予は吐剤を与えて功も多く取りたれども、吐剤にて吐後、体気が脱し死したるもあり。在辱のものは吐すべからずと吐方家の制令なり。発狂の人は元気に見ゆれども、不心のものゆえ体気おおいに虚労するものなれば、攻撃は体気の虚実をはかって与ふべきなり。
発狂のものを治せざれば終には死するものなれども、人の妻子たるものは乱心ながらも夫父の長生してあるを悦ぶべきに、吐剤にて命期を促しぬれば夫父の敵とさぞ恨むべきと、惻隠の心まいまい出でて、その一族を見れば耳熱を生ずることなり。
