婦人で五十歳以上の麻疹患者で、平生怒りっぽく性格が強く、癇症があって腹の調子が整わず、元々月経も少なく四十歳余りで早く閉経したものは、初期の熱が強く悪い症状が現れるであろう。
毒気が激しくて大小便が詰まって出にくい場合は、三黄湯に紅花を加えて用いる。
六十歳以上の麻疹は熱が強く、初期発症の諸症状にて体力が疲れ、病状が危篤で皮膚が厚く麻疹が透発しにくく、痰や喘息で呼吸が塞がる。これも初めに解毒・排毒を速やかにすべきである。私は安永の麻疹流行時に多くの治療を行った中で、七十二歳の老婆を死なせてしまった。これも発表させず喘急の処置のため、薬が的中しなかったのか、治療方法を誤ったのか、私の手で死なせてしまった。
