## 【浅草寺境内の被害】
浅草寺境内では、観音堂西側の破風（はふ）が大きく損傷した。五重塔の九輪（くりん）は曲がった。
荒沢堂・奥稲荷・西の宮稲荷・日音院・太神宮・金毘羅・松尾社・老女弁天など、境内の堂社は残らず潰れた。
雷神門の雷神像は転げ落ちた。濡れ仏（野外の石仏）は倒れた。坊中（境内の諸坊）の崩壊は甚だしかった。
観世音（観音様のご神体）は、奥山の花屋敷へと遷座（お移し）申し上げた。
田町あるいは聖天横丁からの出火は、馬道を境として、境内へはまったく入らなかった。

## 【谷中・浅草周辺の寺院被害】
北谷・中谷の寺院はことごとく潰れた上に焼亡した。南谷は潰れた箇所は多いとはいえ、火事はなかった。
十月の中頃には、大方の人々が奥山へ野宿するものが多かった。
また、猿若町（さるわかちょう）は普請が新しいためか、土蔵の外は傷みが少なく、（それだけに）類焼してしまったことは惜しまれることである。

## [Damage within the Grounds of Sensōji Temple]
Within the precincts of Sensōji Temple, the gabled roof (hafu) on the western side of the Kannon Hall was severely damaged. The nine-ringed finial (kurin) atop the Five-Storied Pagoda was bent out of shape.
The Arasawa Hall, the Inner Inari Shrine, the West Shrine Inari, Nichion-in, the Grand Imperial Shrine, the Konpira Shrine, the Matsuo Shrine, the Old Woman Benten — all the halls and shrines within the precincts were, without exception, destroyed.
The Thunder God statue at the Kaminari-mon (Thunder Gate) tumbled and fell. The outdoor stone Buddha (nure-botoke, "wet Buddha") toppled over. The collapse of the monks' quarters and sub-temple buildings throughout the precinct was severe.
The sacred image of the Kannon Bodhisattva was reverently relocated to the Hanayashiki pleasure garden in Okuyama [the area behind the temple].
The fires that broke out from Tamachi or from Shōten Yokochō were contained at Umamichi [Horse Road] and did not enter the temple precinct at all.

The temples of Kitatani and Nakatani were entirely destroyed and furthermore burned to the ground. Minamitani suffered many collapses, but was spared from fire.
Through the middle of the tenth month, great numbers of people took to sleeping outdoors in Okuyama.
Furthermore, as for Saruwaka-machi [the theater district], perhaps because the buildings were newly constructed, there was little damage beyond the earthen storehouses — and thus it is all the more to be lamented that the area suffered destruction by spreading fire.
