現代語訳
【右丁】
町役として問屋屋敷に
居住しているが、御仕送り勤めにつき
本宅の諸役を御免許
いただいた。柴木平四郎については
【左丁】
地方住居につき、町並びの抱え
屋敷の諸役を御免許いただいた。
一、同二十年（卯年）三月十一日
海光寺での御法事の際、
拝礼を仰せ付けられ、唐戸内の
御敷居際で拝礼いたした。
もっとも十人の者と柴木平四郎は
拝礼が済んだ後、町役人が
参上して拝礼いたした。

一、御仕送りを仰せ付けられてから、
殿様が江戸御在府の節は、暑中見舞い・寒中見舞いの
御窺い並びに
上々様の御吉凶事の御窺い書状
をもって江戸の御家老様・御用人様まで
申し上げていたところ、元文五年申年六月に御沙汰が
あり、今後暑中寒中の御窺いについては
御在所の御役人中様へお勤め
するよう仰せ出された。

1. On the 11th day of the 3rd month of the same 20th year (Year of the Rabbit),
at the Buddhist memorial service at Kaikoji Temple,
we were ordered to perform ritual obeisance
at the threshold within the Chinese-style gate.
The ten men and Shibaki Heishiro
performed their obeisance first, followed by
the town officials who came forward to perform their obeisance.

1. Since being appointed to messenger service,
when the lord was in residence in Edo, we would send
seasonal greetings for summer and winter
as well as written inquiries regarding
auspicious and inauspicious events concerning the high-ranking lords
to the chief retainers and chamberlains in Edo.
However, in the 6th month of Genbun 5 (Year of the Monkey), an official notice
was issued stating that henceforth, seasonal greetings for summer and winter
should be performed by serving
the local officials at the home domain.
