弘法大師の開基にて加持水と称せる井あり此井の
故を以て西新井村と称せるといふ解しかたし尤能き寺にて
御膳所となるよし也

宮城山恵明寺新儀の真言宗御朱印弐拾石此辺は
地所よく租米も数石納るよししかし何の由緒に依
御朱印を下し給ふといふ事を住僧更に知らず夢中
にていたゝきしものにや宝物抔は元よりなし

竜灯山【旧字表記：龍燈山】性翁寺浄土宗御朱印拾石此寺の本尊は
六阿弥陀彫刻ありし時に本木のあまりを以行基
菩薩座像の阿弥陀仏を刻足立の庄司へ給りし
とて六阿弥陀根元阿弥陀仏としるしの石を建てあり
薬屋の看板を見ることし縁記を見しに初豊島村にて
聞しとは大ひに違ひ足立の庄司宮城宰相といふ人之
ひとり娘を豊島左衛門の《割書：書｜妻》に送りしに引出物の不足
軽少なるを姑にそしられ夫を恥て荒川へ身をなけ死
せしにより侍女拾弐人も順死す《割書：此死骸を求得し｜所を十二天の森と》称して

現代語訳

弘法大師の開基で、加持水と称する井戸がある。この井戸の故をもって西新井村と称するという。理解しがたい。もっとも良い寺で、御膳所となるということである。

下沼田村【足立区】
宮城山恵明寺、新儀の真言宗、御朱印二十石。この辺りは地所が良く、租米も数石納めるということである。しかし何の由緒によって御朱印を下し給うということを、住僧はまったく知らない。夢中でいただいたものであろうか。宝物などは元よりない。

宮城村【足立区】
龍燈山性翁寺、浄土宗、御朱印十石。この寺の本尊は六阿弥陀で、彫刻した時に本木の余りをもって行基菩薩が座像の阿弥陀仏を刻み、足立の庄司へ与えたとして、六阿弥陀根元阿弥陀仏として印の石を建ててある。薬屋の看板を見るようである。縁起を見ると、初め豊島村で聞いたこととは大いに違い、足立の庄司宮城宰相という人のひとり娘を豊島左衛門の妻に嫁がせたが、引出物の不足・軽少なるを姑にそしられ、夫を恥じて荒川へ身を投げて死んだ。これにより侍女十二人も殉死した。この死骸を求め得た所を十二天の森と称して

It was founded by Kōbō Daishi, and there is a well called "kaji-mizu" (blessed water). It is said that the village is called Nishiarai Village because of this well. This is difficult to understand. It is indeed a fine temple and serves as an imperial meal preparation place.

Shimonu-mada Village [Adachi Ward]
Miyagisan Emyō-ji, Shingon sect of new tradition, with a vermillion seal grant of twenty koku. This area has good land and yields several koku of tax rice. However, the resident monk has no knowledge whatsoever of what historical connection merited the granting of the vermillion seal. Perhaps it was received in a dreamlike state. There are no treasures to speak of from the beginning.

Miyagi Village [Adachi Ward]
Ryūtō-zan Shōō-ji, Jōdo sect, with a vermillion seal grant of ten koku. The principal image of this temple is the Six Amida. When it was carved, the monk Gyōki used the leftover wood from the main carving to sculpt a seated Amida Buddha statue and presented it to the manor administrator of Adachi. A stone marker was erected designating it as the "Six Amida Original Amida Buddha." It looks like a pharmacy signboard. Looking at the temple's origin story, it differs greatly from what was first heard in Toshima Village. The only daughter of a person called Adachi manor administrator Miyagi Saisho was sent as wife to Toshima Saemon, but she was criticized by her mother-in-law for the inadequacy and paucity of her dowry gifts. Ashamed before her husband, she threw herself into the Arakawa River and died. As a result, twelve lady attendants also followed her in death. The place where these corpses were found and recovered is called the Forest of the Twelve Devas.
