差上申壱一札之事
一 当村石切之義村中不残取調書上仕候処
此外壱人茂無御座候尤石切稼罷出旅先ニ而
いし石切弟子召抱不申候猶又商売先実躰ニ
相廻り可申候猶具申聞候処一々承知仕奉得
其意候若此上ニ茂不吟味成有之候而後日
被成候聞及候ハヽ其元ゟ早速御注進可成候
其上如何様之御咎筋被 仰付候共少茂
御恨無御座候為後日連印一札如件

差し上げ申し上げる一札の件
一、当村の石切の件について、村中残らず取り調べて書き上げいたしましたところ、この他一人もおりません。もっとも石切稼業で旅先に出ておりますが、その地で石切の弟子を抱えることはいたしません。なお商売先の実情についても見回って申し上げます。なお詳しく申し聞かせましたところ、一々承知いたし、その意を得ました。もしこの上でも吟味不十分なことがあって、後日お聞き及びになりましたら、そちらから早速ご注進くださいませ。その上でどのようなお咎めをお申し付けになっても、少しも恨みに思うことはございません。後日のため連印の一札、以上の通りです。

Although stonemasons are away working in other places, they do not take on apprentices in those locations. Furthermore, we shall continue to monitor the actual conditions at their places of business. When we explained this matter in detail, they understood and agreed to each point. Should there be any inadequate investigation on our part that comes to your attention later, please notify us immediately from your end. Whatever punishment you may impose upon us, we harbor no resentment whatsoever. This joint-signature document serves as record for the future.
