校異ニ採択シタ諸本
本書ノ校異ニ採択シタ諸本ハ、現存スル多数ノ写本ノ中カラ、厳密ナ比較研究ノ結果ニ基イテ選択セラレタ
モノデアツテ、青表紙本ニ於テハ大体吉野時代頃マデノ写本、河内本ニ於テハ大体鎌倉時代頃マデノ写本、別本
ニ於テハ大体室町時代頃マデノ写本デアルガ、特ニ重要ト認メラレルモノハ必ズシモコノ制限ニ従ハナカツタ。
源氏物語ノ写本ハ、五十四帖揃ツテヰルモノデモ、ソノ悉クガ同一ノ系統ノ本文ヲ有シテヰルコトハ稀デア

校異源氏物語凡例
校異に採択した諸本
本書の校異に採択した諸本は、現存する多数の写本の中から、厳密な比較研究の結果に基づいて選択された
ものであって、青表紙本においては大体吉野時代頃までの写本、河内本においては大体鎌倉時代頃までの写本、別本
においては大体室町時代頃までの写本であるが、特に重要と認められるものは必ずしもこの制限に従わなかった。
源氏物語の写本は、五十四帖揃っているものでも、その悉くが同一の系統の本文を有していることは稀であ
って、甚だしいものに至っては、或帖は青表紙本系統の本文を有し、或帖は河内本系統の本文を有し、或帖は
別本系統の本文を有するがごときものさえ存するのである。従って、本書の校異に採択した諸本の系統も、各帖
毎にその初に詳しく表示することにした。左に掲げるのは、本書の校異に採択した諸本の略号・略称・筆者・
所蔵者の一覧表であって、青表紙本・河内本・別本に分ってあるが、これはその本が主として如何なる系統の
本文に属するかを示したに過ぎないから、その詳細は各帖の初の表を参照すべきである。また多数の筆者の手に
成るものは一々筆者を記さず、各帖の初の表に譲った。

Editorial Principles for Textual Variants of The Tale of Genji
Texts Adopted for Textual Variants
The various texts adopted for textual variants in this book were selected from among the many existing manuscripts based on the results of rigorous comparative research. For Aobyoshi texts, generally manuscripts up to around the Yoshino period; for Kawachi texts, generally manuscripts up to around the Kamakura period; for Beppon (variant texts), generally manuscripts up to around the Muromachi period, though those recognized as particularly important did not necessarily conform to these limitations.
Among manuscripts of The Tale of Genji, even those complete with all fifty-four chapters rarely have text of the same lineage throughout, and in extreme cases there even exist manuscripts where some chapters have Aobyoshi lineage text, some chapters have Kawachi lineage text, and some chapters have Beppon lineage text. Therefore, the lineages of the various texts adopted for textual variants in this book are indicated in detail at the beginning of each chapter. What is listed below is a comprehensive table of abbreviations, abbreviated titles, scribes, and owners of the various texts adopted for textual variants in this book, divided into Aobyoshi texts, Kawachi texts, and Beppon texts, but this merely indicates what lineage of text each book primarily belongs to, so for details one should refer to the table at the beginning of each chapter. For those written by multiple scribes, the scribes are not listed individually but are deferred to the tables at the beginning of each chapter.
