　法に違奢を為仕候躰故御帰之翌年佐野源左衛門に被仰付奢
　申坊主共殺害被成減少罷成候処其以後又越後之謙信此所へ
　来り神社仏閣悉被致破却候由勧学院明空と申坊主も文明六年に
　浄土真宗に致改宗妻帯成只今此村に罷在候一向宗光源寺と
　申寺有之其子孫之由申伝候則勧学院塚と申塚有之候此塚に
　百年許以前まて寺僧壱人居申候此僧之墓所を于今勧学院
　塚と唱申由申伝候
一同村領西村与申所に田畑之あさ名に権現之正面大日堂観音堂
　塔之場蓮池講堂毘沙門堂若宮大鳥居石仏下馬之橋なと
　申所有之候此所皆神社仏閣之旧跡之由申伝候
一二日市村領之内礼拝塚と申塚有之候古へ綽如上人井波へ御通
　之時分此所に芝草を寄御腰被懸候付所之者共敬て拝礼塚
　と申伝候
一野尻村領之内岩武之社大権現之宮有之候古へ信濃国野
　尻与申所より河合五郎河合六郎与申兄弟之者此権現を守奉り
　罷越候由夫故則村名も信濃国野尻をかたとり野尻村と申
　由申伝候則同村に一向宗等覚寺と申御坊は右兄弟之者子孫
　之由申伝候
一赤丸村領之内浅井之城与唱候古城跡有之候昔年　元正
　天皇之宮様御入被成其以後下間和泉居住之由申伝候

一西明寺村之義昔年此所を鎌倉之西明寺殿御廻国に而御通之刻
　御休被成其後村相立申に付西明寺村と唱申候又此村領内之内阿
　弥陀堂谷与申所に石二つ御座候西明寺殿腰を御懸候石之由に而
　所には西明寺塚与申川も西明寺川と申由申伝候

現代語訳

法に違い贅沢をしていた様子であったため、御帰りの翌年、佐野源左衛門に命じて贅沢をしていた坊主どもを殺害させ、寺は減少することとなった。その後また越後の謙信がこの所へ来て、神社仏閣をことごとく破却したという。勧学院の明空という坊主も文明六年に浄土真宗に改宗し妻帯し、現在この村にいる一向宗光源寺という寺があり、その子孫であると言い伝えられている。すなわち勧学院塚という塚があり、この塚には百年ほど前まで寺僧一人が住んでいた。この僧の墓所を今でも勧学院塚と呼んでいると言い伝えられている。

一 同村領の西村という所に、田畑の字名に「権現の正面」「大日堂」「観音堂」「塔の場」「蓮池」「講堂」「毘沙門堂」「若宮」「大鳥居」「石仏」「下馬の橋」などという所がある。この所はみな神社仏閣の旧跡であると言い伝えられている。

一 二日市村の領地内に礼拝塚という塚がある。昔、綽如上人が井波へ通られた時分、この所に芝草を寄せて御腰をかけられたので、所の者どもが敬って拝礼塚と言い伝えている。

一 野尻村の領地内に岩武の社、大権現の宮がある。昔、信濃国野尻という所より河合五郎、河合六郎という兄弟の者がこの権現をお守りして移って来たという。それ故、村名も信濃国野尻にちなんで野尻村というと言い伝えられている。同村にある一向宗等覚寺という御坊は、この兄弟の者の子孫であると言い伝えられている。

一 赤丸村の領地内に浅井の城と呼ばれる古城跡がある。昔年、元正天皇の宮様が御入りになり、その後下間和泉が居住したと言い伝えられている。

一 道坪野村の領地の山中に古城の跡がある。先年、野左衛門という者が居城していたと言い伝えられている。

一 西明寺村については、昔年この所を鎌倉の西明寺殿が御巡国で御通りの際、御休みになり、その後村が成立したので西明寺村と呼ぶ。また、この村領内の阿弥陀堂谷という所に石が二つある。西明寺殿が腰をおかけになった石ということで、所には西明寺塚があり、川も西明寺川というと言い伝えられている。

They were living in luxury contrary to Buddhist law, so the year after his return, he ordered Sano Genzaemon to kill the extravagant monks, and the temple complex was reduced in size. Later, Uesugi Kenshin of Echigo also came to this place and destroyed all the shrines and temples. A monk named Myōkū from Kangakuin also converted to Jōdo Shinshū in Bunmei 6 (1474) and married. There is now an Ikkō-shū temple called Kōgenji in this village, said to be descended from him. There is a mound called Kangakuin Mound, where a monk lived until about a hundred years ago. This monk's grave site is still called Kangakuin Mound today.

In a place called Nishimura within the same village territory, there are field names such as "Gongen no Shōmen" (Front of Gongen), "Dainichidō," "Kannondō," "Tō no Ba" (Pagoda Site), "Hasuike" (Lotus Pond), "Kōdō" (Lecture Hall), "Bishamondō," "Wakamiya," "Ōtorii" (Great Torii), "Sekibutsu" (Stone Buddha), and "Geba no Hashi" (Dismounting Bridge). All of these places are said to be the old sites of shrines and temples.

1. Within the territory of Futsukaimachi Village, there is a mound called Raihai Mound (Worship Mound). Long ago, when the high priest Shakunyo was passing through to Inami, he gathered grass and sat here to rest, so the local people respectfully called it the Worship Mound.

1. Within the territory of Nojiri Village, there are the Iwatake Shrine and Daigengen Shrine. Long ago, brothers named Kawai Gorō and Kawai Rokurō came from a place called Nojiri in Shinano Province to serve and protect this gongen deity. Therefore, the village name was taken from Nojiri in Shinano Province and called Nojiri Village. The Ikkō-shū temple called Tōgakuji in the same village is said to be descended from these brothers.

1. Within the territory of Akamaru Village, there are the ruins of an old castle called Asai Castle. In ancient times, Prince Genshō Tennō entered here, and afterwards Shimo-no-ma Izumi resided there.

1. In the mountains within the territory of Dōtsubono Village, there are the ruins of an old castle. In previous years, a person called Noza-emon is said to have lived in this castle.

1. Regarding Saimyōji Village, long ago when Lord Saimyōji of Kamakura was making his provincial tour and passed through this place, he rested here. After a village was established subsequently, it came to be called Saimyōji Village. Also, in a place called Amidadō Valley within this village territory, there are two stones. These are said to be stones where Lord Saimyōji sat to rest. There is a place called Saimyōji Mound, and the river is also called Saimyōji River.
