大棗を用いて煎じるのも、また減らして去るべきである。
承気養栄湯：劉松峯は「枳実・厚朴・大黄は小承気湯である。その他の薬は栄を養うためのものである。これは下した後になお裏証がある者で、まだ尽きていないとはいえ、すでにその半分は衰えている。故にあえて承気湯だけを専用せず、当帰・地黄・芍薬でこれを佐ける。この方ではまた白芍を用いるべきである」と述べている。
瓜貝養栄湯：劉松峯は「瓜蔞・貝母は痰を化すためのものである。陳皮・蘇葉は気を理するためのもので、気が順調になれば痰は自然に清まる。知母・花粉もまた清潤の品であり、花粉はまた痰を清し膈を理することができる。当帰・芍薬は栄を養うためのもので、地黄を用いないのは、痰涎があって胸膈が清まらない証があるため、その膩滞を恐れるからである。四方ともに和平で穏やかで妥当である」と述べている。
人参の使用に関する宜忌には、前に利があり後に害があるという違いがある
人参の禁忌は裏証のみである：人参の宜忌については、また補瀉兼施の条、黄龍湯の条、乗除の条、応補諸証の条を参照せよ。
脹らない：類編では「甚だ害さない」に改作されている。下文の「因って脹らず」の脹と同じで、壅閉を謂うのである。

Trichosanthes and Fritillaria Construction-Nourishing Decoction: Liu Songfeng said, "Trichosanthes and fritillaria are for transforming phlegm. Tangerine peel and perilla are for regulating qi - when qi flows smoothly, phlegm naturally clears. Anemarrhena and trichosanthes root are also clearing and moistening substances, and trichosanthes root can also clear phlegm and regulate the diaphragm. Angelica and peony are for nourishing construction. Rehmannia is not used because there are patterns of phlegm and saliva with unclear chest and diaphragm, fearing its greasy stagnation. All four formulas are harmonious, peaceful, stable, and appropriate."
The appropriate uses and contraindications of ginseng have differences between benefits first and harm later.
