探頭瘟《二オ》 森立夫が言うには、激しく下痢する物が瓜の果肉のようであるから瓜
瓤瘟と名付け、嘔吐する血が、頭脳を探って出すかのようであるから探頭瘟と名付けた。
癭痎《二オ》 痎は核のことで疒偏のものである。これは癭瘤結核の意味であり、あるいは瘤
字の誤りかもしれないが、そうではない。
疙瘩瘟《二オ》 尚論駁正序例によると、世俗でいう疙瘩瘟とは、
全身に赤い腫れ物ができ、瘤のような塊を発するものである。○説疫によると、その症状は瘤
のような塊を発し、全身を流れ歩き、朝発症すれば夕方に死ぬ。三稜針を委中に三分刺入して
出血させ、併せて人中黄散を服用する。《三巻四ウ》

吐かず下さず、痢痛後重がある。○危氏得効方によると、乾霍乱を俗に
攪腸沙という。
大易にいう「あるいはこれを牛に繋ぎ、行人の得るところ、邑人の災いなり」《三オ》 易の
上経無妄六三である。

pulp, hence the name "Melon Pulp Plague," and the vomited blood appears as if probing and extracting from the brain, hence the name "Probing Head Plague."

no vomiting or diarrhea, but dysenteric pain with tenesmus. ○Wei's Effective Prescriptions states that dry cholera is commonly called
"stirring intestine sand."
