三、患者取扱状況
一、治療
入院患者はその症状の軽重及び男女別により、それぞれその病室を区別し、重症患者にして付添を要すると認める者にあっては付添人を置き、栄養・大気・安静療法を主眼とする。しかも細密保全の指導治療方法により、かつ常に不撓の忍耐をもって長期間の療養に耐え得るよう精神的訓練に努めるところがある。
二、給餌
栄養価に最も基礎を置き、新鮮な調理に留意し、予め料理せんとする献立は毎週前献立表により充分査定の上賄わせるものにして、特に不消化物等の嫌いがあるものはこれを避け、可能な限り患者の需要に応するよう努める。常食のほか毎週隔日に鶏卵各1個を、毎週水曜日に牛乳1合ずつを配給する。
三、慰安及び娯楽
精神指導として院内に雑誌「高山」を発行することとした。投稿・批判は自由の立場に論じさせることにし、娯楽の一助とする。なおラジオ、蓄音機、図書、囲碁等によるほか、軽症者にして適宜の運動を必要とする向きには、付近の池（すなわち本病院附属として公許あるもの）での魚釣り、或いは庭園に花壇を設け四季の花卉に心を慰め、時には牧師その他の精神修養による講話をも行う。祭日・記念日等に当たっては滋養パンを支給して慰安を兼ね修養に資するところがある。

3. Patient Care Status
1. Treatment
Inpatients are separated into different rooms according to the severity of their symptoms and gender. For severe patients who are deemed to require attendants, attendants are provided. The main focus is on nutrition, fresh air, and rest therapy. Moreover, through detailed and comprehensive guidance and treatment methods, and with constant perseverance and patience, efforts are made in mental training so that patients can endure long-term treatment.
2. Meals
The greatest emphasis is placed on nutritional value, with attention paid to fresh cooking. Menus to be prepared are thoroughly assessed in advance using weekly menu plans before being provided. Items that are difficult to digest are avoided, and efforts are made to meet patients' needs as much as possible. In addition to regular meals, one chicken egg is distributed every other day each week, and one cup of milk is distributed every Wednesday.
3. Comfort and Recreation
As mental guidance, a magazine called "Takayama" is published within the hospital. Contributions and criticisms are discussed from a position of freedom, serving as an aid to recreation. In addition to radio, phonograph, books, and go, for mild cases who need appropriate exercise, fishing in nearby ponds (officially permitted as hospital annexes) is available, or flower beds are set up in the garden to comfort hearts with seasonal flowers. Sometimes lectures on spiritual cultivation by pastors and others are also given. On holidays and memorial days, nutritious bread is provided to serve both comfort and cultivation.
