を耐え忍んでいて、身を
動かせば父の方へ（蚊が）行くことを
恐れたということである。幼年の
身として古今稀な
孝心が天に通じ、今に至るまで善行として
世に知られているのである。

夏夜に帷帳なく
蚊が多いけれども、あえて払わず
その蚊に思うままに膏血を飽きるまで吸わせ
親の寝所に入らせることを免れさせる

filial devotion that reached heaven, and even now his virtuous deed
is known throughout the world.

On summer nights without bed curtains,
though there are many mosquitoes, he dared not brush them away,
letting the mosquitoes drink their fill of his blood and fat as they pleased,
thus preventing them from entering his parent's sleeping quarters.

and similar things, harming the spleen and
liver organs, and also
thinking it good that children are pleased,
they replace coarse clothing with
soft and beautiful garments.
