当時公も亦匹夫のみ 能くこの言を出す志何ぞ雄なる
果然妙略奇捷を奏し 手ずから天日を挽いて大業を定む
功臣の賞薄く姦臣尊し 再敗三敗嗟何ぞ及ばん
唯だ公の終始報国心 長く万世人臣の法を建てん

Having retainers who yet do not die, I beseech you not to trouble Your Majesty's heart
At that time, you too were merely a common man, yet able to speak such words - how heroic your resolve!
Indeed, with brilliant strategy achieving miraculous victories, single-handedly turning the tide to establish the great enterprise
Meritorious retainers received meager rewards while treacherous ministers were honored - second defeat, third defeat, alas, what could be done?
Only your unwavering loyalty to the country throughout establishes forever the model for all retainers
