まず所司代は硯箱を右へ直し、蓋を取り水を入れ墨をすり、筆一対を取り上げ、鞘を抜いて掛けて見て、自分が書くのに良いと思う筆に墨を含ませ、硯に持たせ掛けて置き、次に料紙を取り一枚を横折りにして、座席衆へ認めて良いかと相尋ねの上、認める。まず一番衆より十番衆まで五日乗尻の名前のみを書く。
