れてそうであった。「さて、どう思われますか、いかがでございますか」と申し上げた。中将殿は「東観殿の東へお渡りください。大事に申し上げるべきことがございます」とおっしゃったので、侍従も持っていた燭台を打ち捨てて、東観殿の大床を東へ向かって歩いて行く。中将殿は南庭を東へ向かって歩まれる。先頭の真柱もいまばかりであろう。南庭の桜も隈なき月の光を見るにも、今を限りとなるべきである。百敷の内を歩み、砂子に響く靴の音よ。これを砂子と思うに涙を押し止めて、ついに袂を切られた。東観殿の東
