へにふしまろひかなしみけりすてにくるまとをさか りけれはこゝよりやかてそぬき出しふき給ひけ れはくるまのとをさかるにしたかひてふえのをと とをくなりけるさるほとに夜もはやほの〳〵とあ けくれはしゝうもかへり侍りけり中将殿はせきさ んにゆきくるまをはみやこへかへされけり六ゐの しんとたゝふたりひえの山へのほりてよりはといふ ところにとしころしりたるひしりをたつねておは してしゆつけせんとありしかはひしりおほきに さはきてみやこへかくと申さら〳〵かなふましき よし申けれはひしりをしるといふことはかやうの

現代語訳

辺に伏し転び悲しみけり。既に車遠く離れければ、ここよりやがて衣抜き出し吹き給いければ、車の遠ざかるに従いて笛の音遠くなりけり。さるほどに夜も早やほのぼのと明けくれば、侍従も帰り侍りけり。中将殿は赤坂に行き、車をば都へ返されけり。六位の身とただ二人、比叡の山へ登りて、「寄りは」という所に年頃知りたる聖を尋ねておはして、出家せんとありしかば、聖大いに騒ぎて「都へ帰ると申さば、更々叶うまじき」旨申しければ、「聖を知るということはかような」
