陽気（やうき）を能（よく）おほえ養育（やういく）すべし。家（いへ）の内（うち）の寒暖（かんたん）を拵（こしらへ）るを
陽気（やうき）を取（と）るといふなり。又（また）余所（よそ）に戸（と）をさすを見（み）て手前（てまい）の戸（と）
をさすべからず。余所（よそ）に戸（と）を明（あけ）るを見（み）て手前（てまい）の戸（と）を開（ひらく）べから
ず。陽気（やうき）家々（いへ〳〵）にて違（ちが）ふべし。たゝ手前（てまい）の陽気（やうき）を能（よく）覚（おほへ）
へて。加減（かげん）すること肝要（かんやう）なり。
船（ふね）の居起（ゐをき）手入（ていれ）の事（こと）
船（ふね）の時（とき）も前（まへ）のごとく二日／目（め）毎（こと）に居尻（ゐしり）取（とり）かへ。蚕（かいこ）薄（うす）くすべ
し桑（くわ）は蚕（かいこ）に見合（みやわ）せ。少（すこ）しあらく拵（こしら）へ喰（くわ）すべし。此時（このとき）
も寒暖（かんだん）の加減（かげん）大事（たいじ）なり。手入（ていれ）の油断（ゆたん）すべからず責桑（せめくわ）
ふり桑（くわ）前（まへ）におなじ。

陽気をよく覚えて養育すべきである。家の内の寒暖を調整することを陽気を取るというのである。また、よその家が戸を閉めるのを見て自分の家の戸を閉めてはならない。よその家が戸を開けるのを見て自分の家の戸を開いてはならない。陽気は家々によって違うものである。ただ自分の家の陽気をよく覚えて、加減することが肝要である。
蚕の居起きと手入れのこと
蚕の船（二齢）の時も前のように二日目ごとに居尻を取り替え、蚕を薄く配置すべきである。桑は蚕に見合わせて、少し粗く準備して食べさせるべきである。この時も寒暖の加減が大事である。手入れを怠ってはならない。責桑、振り桑は前と同じである。

ある年、蚕の船の時分から庭の起きまで雨天で、特に冷風が激しく吹いて、所々で蚕が大いに傷んだことがあったが、ある里の老人が工夫をして、蚕のいる所を戸障子で囲い、内で三四カ所火を焚いて蚕を温め、家内に陽気が巡るようにして養ったところ、雨湿に傷まず大いに上作となったということである。

One year, from the ship stage of silkworms until the garden rising, it was rainy weather, and particularly cold winds blew fiercely, causing silkworms to suffer greatly in various places. However, an elderly person in a certain village devised a method: he enclosed the silkworms' location with doors and sliding screens, lit fires in three or four places inside to warm the silkworms, and raised them so that warmth circulated throughout the house. As a result, they were not damaged by rain and moisture and produced an excellent crop.
