○弘化四年丁未（1847年）三月の
二十八日、明け方は晴れ渡り、終日
風がなかった。日の出から日輪が
紅色のようで、いつもより光も
薄かった。このような大災害の
後なので、人々は
驚き恐れて神に祈りを捧げた。
翌日に至って、また
いつものようになった。

○On the 28th day of the third month of Kōka 4, Hinoto-Hitsuji year (1847), the dawn sky was clear and there was no wind all day. From sunrise, the sun appeared reddish in color and its light was dimmer than usual. Since this occurred after such a great disaster, the people were frightened and alarmed, and offered prayers to the gods. By the following day, it returned to normal.
