正宮御方八条殿御相続の件について、口上書を整えて進上いたしました。文言等でお気に召さない箇所がございましたら、書き改めいたしますので、お申し聞かせください。また、来る十七日に仙洞御所での御能の件を相勤めるとのこと、先刻承った通り言上いたしましたところ、お喜びになられました。しかしながら、仙洞御所では少々お考えのことがございまして、まず暫くの間延期すべきとの御沙汰でございます。そのようにお心得いただくのがもっともと存じます。以上です。

Regarding the matter of succession of the Hachijo-no-miya Imperial Princess, we have prepared and submitted a written statement. If there are any phrases or expressions that do not meet with your approval, we shall revise them, so please let us know. Also, concerning the Noh performance to be held at Sento Imperial Palace on the coming 17th day, when we reported as we had heard earlier, His Majesty was pleased. However, there are some considerations at Sento Palace, so it has been decreed that it should be postponed for a while. We believe it is most appropriate that you understand this matter accordingly.
