戦場で戦う場所において、忠義を尽くし義を竭くせば、果たして莫大な功績があるであろう」と説き終えて、ひどく悲哀し、涙が雨のように下った。まさに似ていた、
梅花は雪を帯びて両ながら美しく 造化に情あることを知る者は少ない
雪は香りなきを恥じ梅は色を譲る いずれが勝るか薛各々先を争うに
力弥はゆっくりと父親の面前に走り寄って、また手を振って言った。「ただ彼の泰山（岳父）の恩賜により、既に彼に対する進退出入の径路を知りました。すぐに堺県の天河舎義平のところに報告して、荷物を準備して参りましょう」
由良助は言った。「世上の人々は皆、我等が山科の地方に居住していることを知っている。もしここに同志を集めれば、人の眼目に睨まれることを恐れる。一度堺県に到着した後、あの里から出発しよう。子供は母親や嫁と共に婦人に付き添い、後事を片付けて、併せて夫妻の親を結び、既に終身の大事を完遂した。明晩船に乗るのを待って、私は本蔵公の身分を装い、このような模様に扮装して、袈裟を着て、覆面笠を戴いて」と言った。
「ただあなたの夫妻に来世の妄執を悟らせさえすればよい。今夜は共に新婦の部屋に宿るべきである。私がすぐに哀婉な一曲を奏でて、洞簫を吹き起こして門を出よう」と、岩石のような婦人は、言わない別れの情を懐いて、ただ一句「願いを完遂しなければならない」と言った。憐れむべきは余情万端、忍んで言わないが、却ってあの本蔵が死期に迫られているのを見た。
母子が何度も「お爺さん」と呼んでも答えることなく、手足が乱れ動いて絶えそうになった。妻子との死別、ああ悲しいかな。母は泣き女は哭し、代わる代わる彼の死骸に向かって、念仏道薦の道場とし、すなわち閨中夫妻の盟を作した。
由良助が出て行こうとして、洞簫を手に取り、六字の南無阿弥陀仏を吹き起こして来た。また思うに、彼の新婦の部屋で、枕を並べ頸を交える追善供養は、ただこの今時の一夜にある。正に

Pitiable are the myriad lingering emotions - she endured without speaking, but saw that Honzō was being pressed by his approaching death.
Though mother and child called "Grandfather" several times, there was no response, and his limbs moved chaotically as if about to cease. The death-parting of wife and children - alas, how sorrowful! Mother wept and women cried, taking turns facing his corpse, making it a place for Buddhist memorial services, thereby forming the vows between husband and wife in the inner chambers.
As Yuranosuke was about to depart, he took the reed flute and began playing the six-character "Namu Amida Butsu." He thought further that in his bride's chamber, the memorial service of sharing pillows and intertwining necks exists only in this one night of the present time. Exactly...
