Lord Matsudaira Hida-no-kami The aforementioned Daishōji domain territory before the abolition of domains consisted of 135 villages in Enuma District, and within Nomi District: Sami Village, Muramatsu Village, Matsuzaki Village, Hisue Village, Kushi Village, Minowa Village, Shima Village, and Baba Village - a total of eight villages. 1. According to the "Honpō Joji Kō," since the establishment of the separate domains of Toyama and Daishōji, official documents and red seals from the shogunate were not granted, and they were first bestowed in Kanbun 4 after Lord Chōmyō's death. 1. According to a left annotation in the chronicle, someone said that when Lord Chōmyō established the separate domains of the Toyama and Daishōji houses, initially the domain yields were not consolidated but were deliberately distributed throughout various locations within the twelve districts, with tax collection across the three provinces of Kaga, Etchu, and Noto. However, after Lord Chōmyō's death, Lord Toshinaga Awaji-no-kami made various proposals and consulted with Lord Toshiharu Hida-no-kami, gradually petitioning the main house to allow both houses to consolidate their tax collection. This led to village exchanges, and through secret negotiations with Senior Councilor Lord Sakai Utanokamī, they finally received the red seal in Kanbun 4. It was precedent for branch family domain holders to receive red seals. Upon consideration, the territories of both houses were previously distributed as scattered lands across the three provinces within the twelve districts, but this may perhaps be a misconception. 1. Yuasa Giyō said that when Lord Chōmyō granted domains to Lords Toshinaga and Toshiharu in Kan'ei 16, he presented his private intentions to the third Shogun Iemitsu, who declared that 100,000 koku and 70,000 koku were excessive. However, due to special consideration, they were granted. Yet the territories were deliberately not consolidated, and the two lords' domains were distributed separately between Kaga and Etchu provinces. This was due to profound consideration
